„Glück“ ist ein emotionaler Zustand, der durch Gefühle der Freude, Zufriedenheit und Erfüllung gekennzeichnet ist. „Liebe“ ist ein Gefühlszustand der Zuneigung und Wertschätzung. Es handelt sich zwar jeweils um einen positiv besetzten Gefühlszustand. Und eine erwiderte „Liebe“ kann auch ein wichtiger Indikator für „Glück“ sein. […] „Glück“ ist nicht das Synonym für „Liebe“ und „Liebe“ ist es nicht für „Glück“. [Rn. 78]

What could be more appropriate on Valentine’s Day than a glance at the findings of the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court on emotions:
‘Happiness’ is an emotional state characterised by feelings of joy, contentment and fulfilment. ‘Love’ is an emotional state of affection and appreciation. Both are positive emotional states. And returned ‘love’ can also be an important indicator of ‘happiness’. […] ‘Happiness’ is not synonymous with ‘love’, and ‘love’ is not synonymous with ‘happiness’.
